For 15 years, guarding the cemetery of China's Anti-Japanese War Soldiers and Victims

As far away as Rabaul City, East New Britain Province, Papua New Guinea, quietly stands a cemetery for Chinese soldiers and compatriots who died in the Anti-Japanese War. Under this cemetery in a foreign country, hundreds of Chinese soldiers and civilians are sleeping in the anti-Japanese war, but most of them The names are no longer verified, and only three tombstones are clearly engraved with the names of the soldiers. The cemetery silently tells of the smoke-filled years, which is awe-inspiring.

Since 2010, under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Papua New Guinea, PNG has always regarded guarding the cemetery as a glorious mission and actively undertaken the daily maintenance and related affairs of the cemetery. Under the unified arrangement of the embassy, the company has organized personnel to repair and reinforce the cemetery, build fences, and improve the infrastructure such as toilets to ensure that the cemetery environment is clean and solemn, avoid damage and miscellaneous interference, and create a solemn atmosphere.

During the Qingming Festival and important anniversaries, the company will cooperate with the embassy to take on the work of contacting and coordinating Chinese-funded enterprises and representatives of overseas Chinese in PNG to attend the memorial ceremony, and prepare flowers, wreaths and other sacrificial and sweeping supplies in advance to ensure the solemnity and smoothness of the ceremony. On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the company once again assisted in organizing a grand memorial event. The solemn cemetery was surrounded by flowers and long mourning, expressing our deepest respect for our ancestors.

Guarding the cemetery is not only a responsibility, but also a continuation of the spirit. For more than ten years, the company's cadres and employees have been deeply baptized by patriotism in the process of personally participating in the maintenance and sweeping activities of the cemetery, and they know how to cherish the peace and tranquility that the martyrs exchanged for their lives and blood.
