The existing buildings have been in saturated operation for nearly 20 years. This time, the two theaters will be repaired and renovated to meet the needs of normal operation and use.

After liberation, it became a faculty dormitory for Jiangsu Province Drama School and Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. In 2014, in the census of cultural relics buildings in Nanjing City, No. 43 Shenjia Lane was identified as“Unmovable cultural relics in Qinhuai District”(Republic of China Building). In 2020, after a comprehensive risk assessment of the house, the results showed that the bearing capacity of some load-bearing structures could no longer meet the normal use requirements, forming a local dangerous building. This time, four Republican buildings at No. 43 Shenjia Lane will be reinforced and repaired to eliminate building safety hazards and maintain the original style of historical buildings.
