Strict prevention and control of resumption of work and promotion of production--Robert. Mugabe International Airport praised by Zimbabwe's president

Recently, Robert. Mugabe International Airport received praise from Zimbabwe's president. According to local media reports in Zimbabwe: Although the COVID-19 epidemic has posed severe challenges to the project's scheduled completion, the flagship project promoted by President Mnangagwa in 2018 is currently progressing very smoothly. The president stated:“Although many China experts returned home due to the epidemic during the implementation of the project, we are now excited to see that the project has resumed work. As of now, the project has completed 45% of the work progress.”

Robert Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. Mugabe International Airport is an important project of China-Zimbabwe friendly cooperation. This project is listed by the Zimbabwean government.“National projects”。After the completion of the expansion project of Zimbabwe's Capital Airport, the annual passenger capacity will increase from the current 2.4 million passengers to more than 6 million passengers, which will greatly promote the development of Zimbabwe's tourism and aviation industries.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020, CJI has organized project employees to carry out work from two aspects: epidemic prevention and control and resumption of work and production. There are more than 170 Chinese employees and more than 300 local employees on the project site. All of them are under closed management. In response to the difficulty of closed management for local employees, we have won the support of local trade unions and the owner's Civil Aviation Administration, and all accommodation are provided. Whether Chinese or local employees, all new construction sites will be quarantined and observed for 14 days. Medical institutions are invited to conduct all-staff inspections every 3-4 months. More than 40 isolation rooms have been added on site and local police and local managers are hired to manage them. Since last year, there have been no positive nucleic acid tests for all staff at the construction site several times.

Strict prevention and control measures and meticulous humanistic care have been praised by the local government and employees, achieving a good situation of zero infection in epidemic prevention and control and steady on-site production.
