Briefing Issue 11

Office of the Leading Group for In-depth Study and Practice of the Scientific Outlook on Development of China Jiangsu International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporation On April 21, 2009, Zhongjiang Foreign Trade Branch implemented the Scientific Outlook on Development and adhered to the diversification of business development. With the spread of the international financial crisis, international market demand has continued to decline, trade protectionism has risen, and the operating environment has deteriorated sharply, which has brought many adverse effects on foreign trade exports, including loss of orders, increased risk of foreign exchange settlement, and significant decline in economic benefits. In response to the current complex business situation, Zhongjiang Foreign Trade Branch took advantage of the opportunity of in-depth study of the Scientific Outlook on Development to recently hold a study and business symposium, combining theoretical study with business practical activities to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the import and export situation of the unit. In the first quarter of this year, the foreign trade branch completed exports of US$28.6654 million and imports of US$18.9544 million, ranking first among foreign trade companies, accounting for 24% and 89% of the total company respectively, ranking first among foreign trade companies, with year-on-year exports increased by 34.41% and imports increased by 74.66%. Judging from the data, the import and export situation of the foreign trade branch is still optimistic, but after careful analysis of the business composition, they still feel that there are great hidden concerns. First, in terms of exports, the Ministry of Commerce, which won the bid at the beginning of this year, accounted for a large proportion of exported materials. If the project data is subtracted, the actual export volume of normal business shows a downward trend. Second, in terms of imports, there are always risks. Last year, the market price of chemical products fell sharply, causing certain losses to the company. However, with the gradual implementation of the national economic stimulus measures, the chemical business has recovered significantly this year. Some remaining problems have been properly resolved. The company's self-operated import business has also achieved good returns. It is still very important to summarize experience and lessons, continuously dynamically track the market, and always control all risk links in import to prevent problems before they occur. During the symposium, everyone spoke freely, analyzed the current export situation faced by each business department one by one, unified their thoughts, established confidence, clarified their goals, and formed the following consensus. The first is to conscientiously study the Scientific Outlook on Development and use scientific theories to guide business practice; the second is to set up early warning points for bulk import and export trade, implement all aspects of the business, and monitor all import and export businesses in real time through foreign trade business software to promptly grasp the execution of orders, understand the progress of foreign exchange collection, and comprehensively prevent trade risks; the third is to insist on promoting diversified business development models. Increase investment in brand building and gradually establish production and export bases for independent brands; increase participation in bidding for foreign aid export materials by the Ministry of Commerce to form relatively stable export channels; increase horizontal integration of the company's tangible export products and strive to expand Enter domestic B&Q The varieties of products sold in supermarkets; steadily carry out self-operated chemical import business and open up new sales channels on the premise of controllable risks.
