President Hu Jintao said: I know Jiangsu Company
On February 5 and 6, 2007, President Hu Jintao led a 130-member delegation on a state visit to Namibia. Wang Yun, Director of the CCIC Banking Office, represented the representatives of CCIC International in African countries, attended a symposium of representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises in African countries chaired by Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai and President Hu delivered an important speech. At the same time, selected by the China Embassy in Namibia, relevant comrades of the CCRC Office participated as staff members in the service and reception work of President Hu's visit to Namibia throughout the entire process. During President Hu and his delegation's visit to Namibia, we deeply felt the understanding and concern of President Hu and the central government leaders for CJI. At the end of the symposium between representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises stationed in African countries, President Hu cordially shook hands with Comrade Wang Yun. Wang Yun told President Hu that he was from Jiangsu International. Chairman Hu said: "I know the Jiangsu company. It is doing a good job and has undertaken many projects in Sudan." Wang Yun reported to President Hu that Jiangsu is a major construction province, and Jiangsu International is a window enterprise for foreign economic affairs. We have brought Jiangsu's construction team into Africa and undertaken many landmark and influential projects. Many project presidents have participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Chairman Hu repeatedly said: "Good! Good! Good!" Wang Yun told President Hu,"Our company built China's satellite monitoring station in Namibia." President Hu was very happy to hear this. On February 5, Ma Kai, the main member of the delegation and director of the National Development and Reform Commission, proposed to visit the National Museum of Namibia. The China Embassy in Namibia arranged for Wang Zenglun, materials manager of the Embassy and the China National Health Care Office, to accompany him. On the way, Director Ma Kai asked Wang Zenglun which unit he belonged to, and Wang replied that he belonged to Jiangsu International Company. Director Ma asked again, what representative buildings do you have in Windhoek? Wang Zenglun reported that there are the Namibian Parliament Building and the Namibian High Court we are building near the National Museum of Namibia where Director Ma is going to visit. Director Ma said,"Then take us to see your project first." In front of the Capitol Building, Director Ma Kai and Wang Zenglun took a group photo and signed an inscription for CJI: CJI Ma Kai February 5, 2007. That night, Wang Huning, a member of the delegation and director of the Central Policy Research Office, took Wang Zenglun's car to the embassy. He asked which unit Wang was from. Wang replied "It's from Jiangsu International Company." Wang Huning immediately said,"Oh, Jiangsu International, Jiangsu International, I know, I know." He also asked Jiangsu International what typical projects it had in Namibia, and Wang Zenglun gave a brief report. During President Hu's state visit to Namibia, through the relevant visits we had direct contact with, we deeply felt that we must do a good job in all our work, achieve greater outstanding results, and live up to the concerns and expectations of the central leadership.
